UK Songwriter Inks Nashville Deal
British country singer-songwriter Bee Smith has signed an exclusive transatlantic publishing agreement with Thornton Cline Music, the Nashville-based publishing company founded by Grammy-nominated songwriter, Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee, and publisher Thornton Cline.
Bee Smith's recent collaboration with American country artist Chris Chitsey has brought further international momentum. Their recording of "Summer Before The Fall", co-written by Bee Smith and Thornton Cline, reached number one on the World Indie Music Chart and has remained at number one across multiple consecutive weeks.
"Im incredibly honoured to join the Clinetel Music family" Bee said. "They are passionate about great songwriting, and Im so grateful for their belief in me. I cant wait to see what we create together".
The publishing agreement represents a significant new step in Smith's international career, bringing her songwriting catalogue into the Nashville music industry while continuing to build on the recognition and chart success she has achieved across the UK, Europe and United States.

Craig Douglas Dead At 85
The British singer and songwriter Craig Douglas who scored eleven Top 40 hits in the UK between 1958 and 1963, has died at his home on the Isle of Wight at the age of 85.
In a career spanning 52 years (he retired from touring in 2010 due to illness), Craig Douglas topped the bill on the Beatles' first televised stage appearance, and penned several songs including the 1963 Song For Europe entry "The Girl Next Door".
His hit recordings included "A Teenager in Love", "Only Sixteen", "Pretty Blue Eyes", "Heart Of A Teenage Girl", "A Hundred Pounds Of Clay". "Time", "When My Little Girl Is Smiling", "Our Favourite Melodies" and "Oh, Lonesome Me".
He also appeared in movies like "It's Trad Dad" alongside such chart-topping stars as Helen Shapiro, John Leyton, The Brook Brothers, Chubby Checker, Del Shannon, Gary U.S. Bonds, Gene Vincent, Gene McDaniels, The Paris Sisters, Chris Barber's Jazz Band, Acker Bilk, Kenny Ball, Terry Lightfoot, The Temperance Seven and Sounds Incorporated.
